Want to waste your time during the weekend ? Give a try to AI-generated artwork 🎨
In favor of the buzz generated by the recent win of an AI-generated artwork during a State Fair Fine Art competition, I started to play with some of the available tools.
You can read many articles on this topic everywhere on the internet.
What is AI-generated artwork?
In fact, there are several types of AI-generated artworks. But according to me, the most interesting one is the NLP-based engine.
NLP = Natural Language Processing
This technology converts a sentence (or a chain of words and characters) into a query, this query will be processed by an application.
The best example, the one everyone knows is Siri/Alexa/Ok Google. You just ask something to your devices by talking, in return, they process the query and send a result.
For artwork generation, it is exactly the same. You simply describe what you have in your mind, and the AI will process it, and render a visual accordingly.
What is it for?
🤷‍♂️ In fact right now, it’s hard to find a real use-case for AI-generated artworks, but given the speed of improvements, we can imagine good use cases for content creators: For example, we could automatically generate an article’s visual, based on the content of the article.
Is it fun?
YES! It is super fun and super addictive!
Each system is having different logic and AI, so it’s hard to compare all the tools. You have first to spend some time on “how to query properly”, but once you get some experience, it’s super fun.
